I can work nearly anyone under the table. Two summers ago, I executed 283 separate creative elements for one client, by myself, in seven different media. I coded. I wrote music. I shot and edited video. The client had a start-up with no money and they are my best friends, which explains why I did that to myself. It was still fun.
I like to generate a lot of ideas. Hundreds. It’s the best way I know to satisfy the brief and know, for sure, that we’ve left no creative stone unturned.
It’s also a good way to get your money’s worth.
I’ve done nearly everything in this business. I’ve run a stat camera. I’ve run ad agencies. I’ve built websites. I’ve built lasting relationships. I’ve directed teams. I’ve taken direction. Art, copy, tech, music, photography, VO, sound design, video editing, coffee fetching, coach, mom, squeaky wheel.
Working with me is like bringing in with a 23-year-old with 37 years of experience. Energy x hard-won knowledge = boom.
I love this stuff.
Clients like me. I speak client.
I married an account executive, which should tell you how much respect I have for those in the client-service-arts.
I don’t eat much.
I can work by the minute, hour, day, project or any other way you want to structure it.
I have mastered the art of remote work because I live on an island: 02554
Since I live on an island, you are always welcome to come and have a kick-off meeting on the beach. We can rent folding chairs. And umbrellas. I’ll bring sunscreen.
I can pretty much geek out on any technology you care to name.
I have never, and would never, poach a client. Never.
I have a very good batting average in pitches.
I love working in teams, but I can also go really fast on my own. Give me a blank wall and I’ll fill it. I sketch. I work up layouts. I write dozens of headlines.
I’m super curious about everything. And I want to know what you are curious about.
If you need something overnight, you will have it by 8AM the next morning, even if I have to work all night to get it to you, goddammit.
Despite the name of this web site, I have a heart and I am really into uncovering emotional insights in my audience.
Sometimes I think well-done research is the coolest thing in the whole world.
I have a process. I can talk for 45 minutes straight about it.
Naming products or new companies gives me the tingles.
I have a blog full of thoughts about the creative process and agency business. It’s here.
I build websites for fun. This one was fun. It took me three hours and 12 minutes.
I value respect and kindness above all things.
If I’m needed, I will travel around the earth for a gig. I have logged over 1,700 nights in hotels.
I’ve worked for hundreds of top-shelf clients.
When I dance, people get hurt, so I do not dance. (This is not a reason to hire me. It’s a reason to not ask me to dance.)
